Mohammed Mamdouh began his film career on the set of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, an experience that grounded his early practice in large-scale international production.

He went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts in Film from the Vermont College of Fine Arts in the United States, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a Minor in Film from the American University of Sharjah.

Mamdouh is currently a film professor at the American University of Sharjah’s College of Architecture, Art and Design (CAAD), where he teaches filmmaking, screenwriting, and emerging narrative forms. Alongside his academic role, he is an established writer and director with over a decade of experience creating work that bridges Hollywood production values with locally rooted, human-centered storytelling.

His professional background also includes senior leadership roles in the media industry, having served as Director of Brand at OSN, StarzPlay, and the region’s leading classifieds platform, dubizzle, where he led high-impact branded storytelling across television, cinema, and digital platforms.

As a filmmaker, Mamdouh’s work has received significant international recognition. His recent short films Halal Dreamsand The Keyboard have won multiple awards and screened at film festivals worldwide, including honors at the New York Short Film Festival, the Culver City International Film Festival in Los Angeles, and numerous international festivals across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

His films are known for their poetic realism, emotional restraint, and exploration of identity, longing, and unseen lives.

Since 2006, Mamdouh has written and directed numerous short films, commercials, and branded narratives that have been exhibited in cinemas, broadcast on television, and viewed online by millions of audiences globally.

He is currently developing his feature-length film Everglow, a visually poetic narrative exploring grief, memory, and healing, while continuing to mentor emerging filmmakers and contribute to the international film festival circuit as a writer-director and educator.
